Ultimate Guide to Parent Focused Trade Shows

In most countries, the title of mom is not considered a profession. However, anyone who has been a parent knows that it is absolutely an occupation. Moms need products and services just like any other industry. In fact, studies show that moms are willing to spend a good amount of money on a product to help their child eat, sleep, play, or learn. Anything that makes parenting overall easier is important for the world we live in today. Being overwhelmed with options can paralyze new parents.

There are parent and kid industry trade shows that you could attend to view and learn about the newest products and technology on the market. If you have an idea for a product related to family, parenting or kids you may consider an exhibit at a show.

Parent and Family Trade Shows

It’s like the ultimate playdate but for parents instead of kids. You can network with other parents and also learn about the leaders of innovation in the industry. Family service trade shows are bigger than you would think.

Some examples of trade shows and events for parents include:

The New York Baby Show – this is one of the largest consumer baby shows in the country, featuring hundreds of exhibitors and a variety of family-friendly activities.

MommyCon – this is a convention dedicated to natural parenting and includes workshops, speakers, and a marketplace of natural parenting products.

The National Parenting Product Awards (NAPPA) – this is an annual awards program that honors the best products and services for families and children.

The International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) Annual Conference – this event brings together professionals and parents interested in infant massage, offering workshops and networking opportunities.

The International Toy Fair – while not specifically for parents, this trade show is a great place to discover new and innovative toys for children.

These are just a few examples of the many trade shows and events for parents. It’s always a good idea to research and attend events that are most relevant to your interests and needs as a parent.

A quick google search will show you which ones are closest to your area and you can narrow down by distance, industry, budget, and more to find the best fit for your interests.

Attending a Trade Show

Maybe you are interested in the entrepreneur route and think you have an idea for a new product for kids and/or parents. If you decide to attend a trade show with your own exhibit you will probably want to start small with a 10 x 10 display booth. The advantage to starting small is that you can upgrade the size of your booth to a 10 x 20 very easily if you decide you want to or when your budget increases.

Know Before You Go

Do your research in advance and make sure you are attending the trade fair that best fits your business offering. Depending on whether you are going as a visitor or a vendor will influence how you prepare. But, either way, you should dress comfortably, network as much as you can, and follow-up afterwards.
